Chalan in Kathak refers to graceful stylized movement, the elegant walk that embodies character, rhythm, and intention.

Chalan – Stepping Forward is a contemporary Kathak dance project that symbolizes progress, evolution, and continuity while staying rooted in tradition, the grammer of which was shaped through the various courts.

Through solo and ensemble choreography, live music, and layered rhythmic design, Chalan reflects artistic lineage, personal identity, and collective forward movement.
