Book 1 meet up: 6:45pm – 8pm, Tuesday 23rd September, Key Theatre Bar
We’re kickstarting the Landmark Theatres Book Club with this incredible look into genius Alan Turing‘s life, by a fellow mathematician!
Arguably one of the most important and inquisitive minds of the twentieth century, Alan Turing is famed for cracking the Enigma code at Bletchley Park, effectively securing victory for the Allied forces in WWII.
It was the book that inspired award winning film The Imitation Game, and this October, we have the new production of Hugh Whitemore’s Breaking The Code coming to our stage.

Book 2: Rita Hayworth And Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King
Book 2 meet up: 6:45pm – 8pm, Tuesday 11th November, Key Theatre Spires Room
We’re continuing the Landmark Theatres Book Club with this classic novella from Stephen King, considered one of his best works.
The plot follows former bank vice president Andy Dufresne, who is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and ends up in Shawshank State Penitentiary, where corruption and violence are rampant.
In 1994, Frank Darabont adapted the story to multi Academy Awards nominated film, The Shawshank Redemption. It starred Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, and has been regarded as one of the best films of all time.
In 2009, the story was adapted for the stage as The Shawshank Redemption – and we are so excited to have the return of this electrifying show on our stage next February…

Theatre company Flabbergast are bringing their visceral and eloquent retelling of this 17th century tragedy to our stage next February, and we thought reading this in Book Club would be a fantastic opportunity to rediscover its power away from school!

Book 4: The Beekeeper Of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri
Book 4 meet up: 6:45pm – 8pm, Tuesday 14th April 2026, Key Theatre Bar
Then, we’re heading to Aleppo for this unforgettable and moving best-seller, winner of the Aspen Words Award, Runner up for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, and one of The Times top three bestselling books of 2020!
It deals with the plight of refugees from Aleppo in Syria to Europe during the Syrian Revolution. While a work of fiction, it is based on the author’s experience over two summers volunteering in Athens at a refugee center.
In 2023, it had its world premiere in a brand new stage adaptation by Nesrin Alrefaai and Matthew Spangler who very successfully adapted The Kite Runner, and is directed by Olivier Award winning Miranda Cromwell (Death of a Salesman – Young Vic, Piccadilly Theatre, and Broadway). This May, we are welcoming it to our stage!
