TRASHedy Eco Games Workshop

Sun 11 May
A vibrant, high-energy workshop inspiring climate action through creativity, games, and interactive learning.

Step into the world of Eco Games — an exciting, hands-on workshop experience designed for everyone aged 11+. Through a unique blend of play, teamwork, and creative thinking, this workshop brings the urgent issues of climate change, sustainability, and the carbon cycle to life in a way that’s both fun and deeply engaging.

This unique experience was co-designed by Jumped Up Theatre’s New Creatives programme — a talented collective of 16–24-year-old creatives from Peterborough. Working in collaboration with artist Jason Mitchell. Together, they’ve crafted a workshop that’s fun, inclusive, and full of energy, putting young local voices at the heart of climate storytelling.

Led by the New Creatives group alongside professional artists and facilitators, participants will dive into environmental topics through:

🌍 The Eco Gameshow – A fast-paced, quiz-style challenge where teams go head-to-head, testing their knowledge of the environment, sustainability, and climate solutions. Expect laughter, surprises, and plenty of friendly competition!

🌱 Interactive Carbon Cycle Game – A fully immersive experience where participants become elements of the carbon cycle, moving through ecosystems, industries, and the atmosphere to see how carbon flows and how human actions affect the balance.

🎮 Mini Games & Creative Challenges – Short, high-energy games that mix physical movement, problem-solving, and imagination to explore eco themes like waste and community action.

This isn’t your average workshop — it’s a dynamic, youth-led experience designed to connect us all to the issues and create action in a fun way. Leave climate despair behind and join in the fun. Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or youth worker, Eco Games offers an unforgettable way to connect, learn, and take action.

New Creatives youth programme has already lead workshops at Thomas Deacon Education Trust as part of its Sustainability Conference read about the day here.

“The New Creatives have been hard at work developing this project since October 2024. Working alongside professional artist Jason Mitchell and the Jumped Up Theatre team, they’ve been exploring clowning and performance to co-create an interactive workshop that will inspire young people in Peterborough to think differently about climate change and take meaningful environmental action. I’ve really seen their confidence grow over the past few months as they’ve taken lead on the project, shared their ideas and discovered the power of using creativity to engage others in the climate conversation.” – Emily Steele-Dias, Participation Producer at Jumped Up Theatre.
